In the year 1982 Mr.Neville David had joined Palm Grove Hotel, at that time they were very less people visiting the beach, and they were less drowing cases as I was working as a lifeguard at the Palm Grove pool, I new the importance of a lifeguard & I used to guard the beach at my free time, I used to tell my friends about this, & they also used to join me .

Then in the year 1994 a Traffic inspector by the name of Mr Nagra had seen us doing the job then he call us and asked us to join the Traffic Dept in the Water Saftey Patrol at that time we were about 15 nos of us, we were called the first Baywatch Team of Mumbai which had come in the news paper the cutting is as below as day past the numbers of members increased, we used to only do our duty on all beach festival days like Holi, Ganesh immersion, Garba & so no ,with the Traffic Dept, in the year 1995 the hotel started a Water Sport Center which was the first in Mumbai & we used to run the Water Sport Center since they were many boats & life guards the number of drowning was less, we would like to start the Water Sport Center again, this will look after the drowing case also, in the year 2000 the center was closed down, & we had to operate our life guarding without boats & rescue equptiments then in the year 2008 we got our selves registered as Juhu Beach Life Guard Asso.

We Juhu Beach Life Guard Asso, is working with the Traffic Control Branch Worli Mumbai as Water Safety Patrol From 1994 till date we do our duty on all fesstivals day which are on the beach front, like Ganesh Chaturthi, Holi, Garba, Chat Pooja, New Year, and on High Tides in the Monsoons,We do our duties with the Traffic dept on days.We Have 250 members on all the beach front who are all local staying near the beaches,

our members are covered right from Gatway to Gorai beach. Our members are all trained to handle speed boats, and all safety equpt, and are also good swimmers, Our members have also done Civil Defence Courses through wich they have been thought how to give first aid to the casualty and also work in any disaster, Fire, Bomb.
